Day 4 & Day 5

Hi everyone,

Feeling a little bummed as I've been out of action for 2 days as I've sprained my lower right hand side of my back.  

I was trying to drag a barbell up while sitting on a bench, stupid me.  I should have got up and lifted it properly, oh well that will teach me.

As I'm physically active during the day anyway I've managed to lose an extra 300g already so really happy with that.  

I'm planning on doing the Nepean River Walk tomorrow morning, even if I have to take my pain killers again.  I need to exercise.  I can't be out of action for too long.  I will be going to the physio on Monday afternoon about it so hopefully Justin can help me with it.

Day 3 - Cardio

Hi everyone!

Not a good day for me as I pulled a muscle in my lower right hand side of my back yesterday due to pulling a barbell up instead of lifting it properly.  Oh well that will teach me.

Managed to burn off 300 calories today as I did only half a spin class cause I'm in quite a bit of pain with this sore muscle so I don't want to go and make it any worse.

Hopefully it wont' take too long to repair, using a cold pack when I can on it and that seems to be helping a lot.

Round 3 - Bloggers Challenge!


Well here is our first bloggers challenge so here goes:

Hi, I'm Karen, 36 and live in St Marys, NSW.  I work part time and also work from home.  


2. What brings you to 12wbt? Getting fitter? Losing weight? (Gaining weight??) Are you first timer, a repeat offender?? 
I am here for my second attempt of losing around 14kgs, if possible.  Had a bad case of the flu halfway through last round and never really got back on track after that.
I am determined to do well this time and keep telling myself "JFDI".


3. Why do you blog??
I blog to keep a journal of my journey and to hopefully inspire other people along the way.


4. Who is your biggest inspiration in life and why (doesn't have to be weight loss)
Can I say Mich?  I think all the work she does is absolutely amazing!


5. What things in life bring you the most joy?
Spending quality time with my partner and just enjoying the simple things in life and cooking new recipes by Mich.

6.What do you think your greatest challenge is going to be this round?
My greatest challenge this round is attempting the A L&F Program.  Although I'm modifying the Rolling Interval Program at the moment I'm certainly aiming to tackle it full on in a few weeks.  I have very very tight hip muscles which I'm seeing a physio about and I'm really pushing myself to do the running program.


7. What are you most excited about 12wbt?
Definitely most excited about losing that excess weight and going to the Finale Party.

8. And what scares the pants off you?
What scares the pants of me is nothing really......as I just have to remember, JFDI, no matter what. 


9. Tell me - right now - today - how do you feel about exercise in no more than 10 words
I feel excited and ready for the challenge!


10. Complete this sentence - in 12 weeks time - on the last day of 12wbt I am going to be feeling........ absolutely fantastic and proud of what I have achieved.

Well Day 1 is all done and dusted, thank goodness. 

Fitness test went really really well:

1km Time Trial = 5.25

Push Ups =         41 (knees of course)

Ab Strength =     L2, 22

Wall Sit =           1:08 

Sit & Reach =     +2

Eve of Round 3, 2011

Hi everyone!

Well here goes another round of blood, sweat and tears!  

My absolutely disgusting before shots :(  Oh well it can only get better from here!

Here are my measurements:
Chest:   103.5cm

Waist:    102cm

Hips:      110cm

R/Thigh:  59cm

L/Thigh:  59cm

...also did my left and right calf as there was a bit of difference and curious to see where they are at later on down the track:

Left Calf:   42cm 

Right Calf:  44cm

I'm just about to go and prepare the lasagna dish and can't wait to taste it.

Saturday 10th September 2011

Well here goes my first Blog.

Got mum to take my before photo this afternoon and I must say there was more of me out of my bikini than in it, lol.

Will be taking my measurements tomorrow and doing my Fitness Test on Monday.

Oh and I also laminated the running programs so that they don't get all crumpled each time I take them out to place on the treadmill.
